Djeco invited me to illustrate their Trio Puzzle – Orchestra, a 24-piece educational puzzle designed for children aged 3 and up. The puzzle features eight charming animal musicians, each composed of three vertically arranged pieces. The characters include a frog playing the banjo, a poodle with a cello, a rabbit on the triangle, a dog with a saxophone, a cat playing the melodica, a tiger with a flute, an owl on the harmonica, and another cat with a kazoo.
In creating these illustrations, I aimed to infuse each animal with personality and musical flair, using bold shapes, a limited color palette, and hand-drawn textures. Drawing inspiration from mid-century design and screen printing techniques, my goal was to make the puzzle both visually engaging and educational, encouraging children to explore the world of music through playful imagery.
