<image:caption>This project involves the creation of a series of illustrated zodiac signs, designed for use in various editorial contexts and merchandise. The style will be minimalistic and contemporary, utilizing clean lines and a muted color palette to evoke a sense of calm and balance. Each illustration will focus on abstract representations of the zodiac traits, incorporating geometric shapes and organic forms to create a harmonious composition. The artwork will be versatile enough to cater to both print and digital applications, ensuring it resonates with a broad audience while maintaining a sophisticated aesthetic. The final presentation will be polished, suitable for magazines, books, or promotional materials, as well as for potential inclusion in stationery products.</image:caption>

Home Decor Items In the home decor category, our illustrations are applied to items such as wall art prints, cushions, and tote bags. <image:title>Projects - Editorial Airbnb magazine</image:title>
<image:caption>Header illustration and three accompanying visuals that complement the narrative of 'Eat Better on Your Next Flight with This Prep-Ahead Meal Guide.” For the Airbnb Magazine piece “Eat Better on Your Next Flight with This Prep-Ahead Meal Guide,” I approached the project with a clear objective: to bring warmth, charm, and narrative clarity to an otherwise practical topic. I created a bold header illustration and three supporting spot visuals that together elevate the story beyond standard travel tips. My style draws from mid-century screen printing and vintage cookbooks — playful, pared-down, and textural. I chose a limited color palette and hand-drawn textures to give the imagery a tactile, human feel that resonates with readers. Each illustration was designed to not just mirror the article, but to enhance it — visual cues that suggest ease, nourishment, and the small joys of mindful preparation, even when flying. The result is a set of illustrations that not only complement the content, but embody its spirit — encouraging readers to approach in-flight meals not as an inconvenience, but as an opportunity for creativity and self-care.</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - Bloom & Wild wrap design</image:title>
<image:caption>To celebrate all mothers, I designed a joyful, flower-filled pattern for a special edition flower wrap and accompanying greeting cards for Bloom & Wild. My aim was to capture the warmth, care, and individuality that define motherhood — expressed through playful compositions, rich textures, and a vintage-inspired color palette. Staying true to my signature style, I combined bold shapes with hand-drawn details and a screen-printed aesthetic to evoke a tactile, nostalgic charm. The pattern is both expressive and refined — full of movement, yet balanced — creating a cheerful and thoughtful presentation for Bloom & Wild’s Mother's Day collection. It was important to me that the illustrations not only look beautiful but also carry an emotional resonance, making the gift feel personal and lovingly considered.</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - Zeit Magazin Editorial "Da Draußen"</image:title>
<image:caption>For Zeit Magazin's monthly column "Da Draußen", I have been illustrating various natural phenomena since 2020. Each month, I delve into a different aspect of the natural world—be it flora, fauna, or ecological patterns—to create visuals that complement the accompanying articles. My illustration style is characterized by a vintage-inspired aesthetic, utilizing a limited color palette, bold shapes, and expressive characters. Drawing inspiration from mid-century design and screen printing techniques, I aim to infuse each piece with a sense of warmth and nostalgia. This approach allows me to present scientific and environmental topics in an accessible and engaging manner, inviting readers to connect more deeply with the natural world around them. Through this ongoing collaboration with Zeit Magazin, I strive to bridge the gap between art and science, using illustration as a tool to foster curiosity and appreciation for nature's intricacies.</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - The Telegraph Editorial</image:title>
<image:caption>For Stella Magazine's article, “Five Reasons Why Living Like a Divorcee Could Save Your Marriage,” I created a series of illustrations that balance wit and warmth to reflect the article's insightful take on modern relationships. The piece explores how embracing certain aspects of post-divorce life—such as personal space, independent friendships, and relaxed household expectations—can actually strengthen a marriage. In developing the visuals, I aimed to capture the article's nuanced perspective with a touch of humor and relatability. My illustrations feature bold shapes, a vintage-inspired color palette, and expressive characters, drawing from mid-century design and screen printing techniques. This approach allowed me to present the themes in an engaging and accessible manner, resonating with readers navigating the complexities of long-term relationships.</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - Washington Post Editorial</image:title>
<image:caption>During the pandemic, I had the opportunity to illustrate a piece for The Washington Post titled “The Food Critic Gets Critiqued: What Tom Sietsema Learned in a Year of Pandemic Home Cooking.” The article delves into Sietsema's experiences transitioning from critiquing restaurants to navigating his own kitchen, highlighting the challenges and humorous moments that ensued. In approaching this project, I aimed to capture the essence of Sietsema's journey with a touch of warmth and humor. <image:title>Projects - Freundin True Crime Editorial</image:title>
<image:caption>For the illustrated map in Freundin magazine, I designed a detailed and lively visual guide that highlights key locations and landmarks relevant to the story. My approach combined clean, graphic lines with hand-drawn textures, creating a harmonious balance between clarity and warmth. Inspired by vintage cartography and mid-century illustration, I used a limited, harmonious color palette to keep the map visually engaging yet easy to navigate. The style invites the viewer to explore the area with curiosity and a sense of discovery.</image:caption>

<image:caption>For jungwiealt.com, I crafted a series of playful and vibrant card designs that blend charm with wit. Drawing inspiration from nature, everyday life, and a touch of humor, each illustration is designed to bring a smile to the recipient. <image:title>Projects - Postcard designs in collaboration for jungwiealt.com</image:title>
<image:caption>For jungwiealt, an independent stationery brand based in Hamburg, I designed a series of illustrated postcards that blend charm and wit. These postcards feature a range of themes, from playful animals and whimsical scenes to heartfelt messages and seasonal motifs. Each design is crafted to evoke joy and connection, making them perfect for sending a thoughtful note or brightening someone's day. My illustration style for this collection draws inspiration from mid-century design and screen printing techniques, characterized by bold shapes, a limited color palette, and expressive characters. This approach allows the designs to be both visually engaging and emotionally resonant, aligning with jungwiealt's ethos of creating high-quality, eco-friendly stationery that appeals to both the young and the young at heart. + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects</image:title>
<image:caption>When the Ernst Deutsch Theater invited me to illustrate The Wizard of Oz, I saw it as a chance to bring a fresh, playful energy to a timeless story. I used bold colors, textured shapes, and a screenprint-inspired style to create a handmade, whimsical feel. I reimagined each character with simplicity and warmth—Dorothy wide-eyed and curious, the Scarecrow lanky and kind, the Tin Man soft despite his metal, and the Lion gentle and shy. My goal was to balance nostalgia with a modern touch, blending folk influences with clean, contemporary lines. Theater is all about atmosphere, so I designed the scenes to feel open and theatrical, almost like stills from a stage set. I wanted viewers to feel the magic of Oz before the play even began.</image:caption>
